When students come to class, they need to feel like they are part of the classroom and not left out. Each child should have their own spot on the classroom carpet that they can call home, for their real home may not be safe and welcoming. This rug will help my students because they will have a spot if their own instead of fighting for a spot on a 20 person rug when there are 26 students. I currently have a 20 student carpet (for 26 kids) that creates a negative environment in the class. Students often argue where they should sit or cry if they are left off of the carpet. I would like to get a carpet that creates a community of learners, not fighters.
