I teach 3rd and 4th grade resource as well as reading intervention. My students are bright, funny and energetic. They come to my resource class for extra help; breaking down the concepts taught in the general education class. Most of the kiddos have a very short attention span. I’d like to provide them with flexible seating and sensory items so they are able to focus on learning. By providing flexible seating and sensory items, it satisfies the need to constantly leave their seat or disrupt the classroom. The wobble chairs, bean bag chairs and sensory bands will help those students who have a difficult time paying attention. I’d like to set up my class with various options for seating, which I believe will increase engagement and student success. I will use these items in my 4 resource classes and reading intervention classes. I know my students would benefit greatly and it would make a great addition to my classroom.
