I want to make my math classroom a space in which students can think collectively, learn together, and construct knowledge and understanding through activity and discussion. Using rolling whiteboards will enable this, which will in turn increase student achievement. Research has shown that student groups who worked on vertical whiteboards demonstrated more thinking classroom behavior – persistence, discussion, participation, and knowledge mobility – than when they worked on any other type of work surface. Using rolling dry erase white boards, my students will be able to work collaboratively in groups in a dynamic way that doesn't happen on paper.
