Children were created to learn through play, its what they know. By providing more hands-on manipulatives students can learn their way. Play-based instruction is highly effective and provides continuity between home, school, and opens the doors of possibilities for the world around them. In the face of a global pandemic, it is of the utmost importance to ensure students are not only developing their cognitive skills but their social-emotional skills as well. Play-based learning allows students to do just that. More manipulatives will allow for less sharing and more time to sanitize between uses.
