I teach 1st grade at a South Carolina school that is 53.6% free and reduced lunch. Our school's racial make up is 87.1% Caucasian, 3% African American, 9% Hispanic, and roughly 5% who identify with more than one race. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn. These are a great bunch who need exposure to high quality literature right in our classroom.
