Last year I purchased a few stability balls for my classroom to provide an alternate seating option for students who needed to move more while learning. While the balls really helped some students, I only had a few students had to wait for their turn, and the stability balls were not as effective for some students.
Just like adults in offices need stand up desks, rolling chairs, rocking chairs, and adjustable chairs, students need options for seating other than a standard classroom chair to help them learn. The portable lap desks will benefit students who would prefer to work on the floor yet still need a table surface. The active learning stools, donut stool, and wobble cushions would provide a variety of options for students while working or listening. The bouncy chair bands will provide a movement option for students who just need to keep moving. (I have used regular rubber bands before but they tend to break easily.)
Last year I also had students with sensory issues that needed the wobble cushions to meet their sensory needs for movement or texture. The more options I have for flexible seating, the better I can meet the environmental needs of my students and provide the best atmosphere for learning.
