My little first graders are extremely interested in non fiction, real world applications and they are craving more materials. I will use these magazines and books in small group settings to ensure maximum learning. They will be inspired by the men and women I have chosen in these stories, to potentially do something great themselves now, or later in life! It is hard to find enough copies of books about modern heros to be able to work in a group of 5-6 students and really dive into the story. Students will work with me to learn about important figure in our history, and write their very first biography using the facts they learned together! I can't wait to get started and inspire my 26 students to admire these historical figures, and to aspire to be a dreamer and a life long learner.
