We know that not all students learn the same way. So why do we expect them to sit the same way? My students need the resources necessary to feel some choice or control over their environment. Students will be encouraged to find their best spot to be productive and focused. Flexible seating allows students to have more ownership of their learning. Stability cushions, exercise balls, stools, and lap desks give students options that provide comfort and therefore, provide higher student engagement and productivity. My integration of flexible seating will be used during small group and independent work time. I strongly believe that this will spark a change in their commitment to learning and positive behavior.
