My sweet Kindergarten students are still recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Our current classroom, in Orange, Texas, is still a work in progress. My students are having to adjust to a classroom that is still being put together due to the amount of flooding and damage that occurred at the campuses in our district due to Hurricane Harvey. Hurricane Harvey affected and displaced many of my students, our faculty, and staff, but as a school within a strong community, theses difficult challenges have been met with resilience and compassion. My students have shown that no matter where they are, whether it be attending school in an unfinished classroom, being displaced from their home, or just adjusting to life after a hurricane, they still love to laugh, learn, and play.
