My 4th grade teaching team is focused on improving our students' language arts experiences and abilities through challenging curriculum. As a district, we adopted new rigorous curriculum, with Wit & Wisdom. This first year is implementing it provides challenges both with meeting the needs of our students and bridging gaps. our students are weak in writing. These students have a large task to make great gains in order to get back on track with the reading levels of their peers, both in the classroom and on standardized tests. Providing the reading support needed to gain confidence is crucial at this age and makes a huge impact for the rest of their educational careers.
