I would like to incorporate a STEM day into my science program each week. The STEM activity kits that I am requesting would provide much needed materials and ideas to get this up and running. These STEM kits would greatly enrich my students creativity and love for learning. The STEM activity kits that I am requesting will challenge my first graders' developing math and science knowledge while providing them with countless opportunities to collaborate and problem solve. These kits will also foster important skills such as listening to and learning from each other's ideas by exploring options that they hadn't considered. From STEM challenges, they will realize that problems can have a variety of working solutions. STEM also teaches perseverance. When faced with ideas that fail to work, they will have to back up and look at plans and materials and make changes and try again! This is when the real learning takes place! All of the skills used during a STEM activity prepare kids to be the critical thinkers and team players that will succeed in the future!
