I teach a class of 20 students of various learning abilities and cultural backgrounds. I teach a Literacy Block as well as three Science classes. Each student brings to the classroom a distinct personality and ability. There is a genuine sense of caring in this classroom. Students look out for and help each other without being asked. Each day they enter the school smiling and eager to learn. My first indication of this was the first week of school when a student asked if it would be okay if he added more words to his writing. This is what teaching is all about. They truly make work a joy. I hope that I have inspired them half as much as they have inspired me.
