Incorporating a listening station for my students will help them experience books that are a little bit above their reading level. The CD player will allow them to enjoy books that interest them and hear how the book is supposed to be read. They will get to follow along with the book and read the words as they are being said. The earphones with microphones will allow the student to record their own reading and then be able to play back their reading to build their fluency. They will be able to hear that their reading needs to run smoother and sound more like talking. This will help move them up in their reading level.
