I am requesting a kidney table, which is shaped like a kidney bean, in order to work more effectively with small groups in my classroom. This table will allow me to teach in a small group setting, where all students are in close proximity to me. Teaching in a small group allows me to provide individualized instruction to provide extra support to students. It is difficult to work with students at the circular table I have now, because it seats only three students plus the teacher and they are more than an arm's length away from me, making it difficult for me to see what they are working on or help them find their place with the materials we are using. Kidney tables have room for six students and the teacher.
