In the words of Dr. Seuss, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." My students are hungry for reading and learning about the world around them. Having a listening center to go along with our library would make challenging books and subjects more accessible to my emerging, bilingual readers. As a new teacher, I have struggled to fill our classroom library. My students would benefit from more read aloud and shared reading books. Adding more books to our library will give students more chances to engage in meaningful discussions with their peers.
