My first grade students entered school this year ready to learn. Their eagerness and enthusiasm is contagious! This year they will transition from learning developmental readiness skills to mastering foundational skills in reading and math. That's a whole lot of learning to be packed into one year! My goal is to make learning fun and engaging for all students! Unfortunately, my students are only provided with a minimal amount of materials and resources. Just getting by with the "bare minimum" is no fun at all! Although the families in our community work hard to support us, we understand that many families can only meet basic needs. All of our students participate in the school's free breakfast and lunch program. Our students would greatly benefit from having the resources that schools in more affluent areas have. Please help our students. Today's learners will be tomorrow's leaders.
