Eighth graders enter the classroom with an amazing amount of energy and with new and innovative ways of doing things. STEM educational experiences give students opportunities to explore concepts in meaningful, multidisciplinary ways. Students expand their minds by using math and science skills to work through engineering problems using both the engineering design process and scientific method. I am creating a MakerSpace in my classroom where students can utilize resources to turn content into meaningful, hands-on experiences. With just a few simple supplies, like batteries, cups, glue guns, and craft sticks, students can create their own “Scribble Bot” which will help to deepen their knowledge of Universal Systems and the flow of electricity.
