Our school is an urban school with students from a diverse range of backgrounds. Many students do not have the opportunities to practice the skills they learn at school with anyone at home. My students possess a wide range of academic abilities. In my classroom, I alter many activities to allow all students to be challenged at their own level. Many of my students have few opportunities to further their knowledge of letters, letter sounds, rhyming, and other literacy essentials at home. For other students in my class, English is their second language. The creative tools that I have requested will be perfect for furthering these essential skills. It is very helpful for the classroom, to frequently use this sort of engaging tool. Increasing the skills needed for literacy, is a main goal of mine, and I hope to do so through methods that are effective, fun, and engaging for the students.
