Percussion playing is extremely popular with our students. We have a growing drumline. We go into competition playing buckets because we do not have enough percussion instruments. We do not currently have any pitched percussion instruments and the addition of a pitched instrument will add melody to a driving percussion beat. The djembe will provide students with an instrument and the xylophone - a pitched Donations to this project will supply students with pitched- and un-pitched instruments going into competition, concert playing and in the classroom. Instilling a life-long love of music begins with the music classroom. These instruments will provide a chance for the students to present their beat and melody on real instruments in an ensemble. They will work cooperatively in the classroom and on the stage. These instruments will be used by children in grades 4-8 every day all year long and for many years. Without your donation, I will not be able to make this project happen.
