Students learn best when they are relaxed and comfortable. Sitting at a desk for most of the school day is not an ideal situation for children, nor is sitting on a hard floor. I have chosen floor mats, pillows, and comfy recliners so students will have the opportunity to leave their desks and find a comfortable place to either work independently or in small groups. Students are much more excited about learning when they have a pleasant and relaxed learning environment. I know the items I have chosen will increase their enthusiasm for learning. Due to Covid-19 spacing requirements, I had to remove my class carpet to make space for socially distanced desks. The items I have chosen can be spread throughout the room and easily moved and stored.
