My scholars are from all of the surrounding suburbs of Dallas, Texas. They all recently came from surrounding public schools. They are extremely bright, loving, driven, and excited children that know the value of their education. Every morning my scholars and I do a chant that says, "We work hard to get smart, so all out dreams become reality." They know what colleges they are going to and they are passionate about who they are going to become. They are also mature beyond their years. They know their strengths and weaknesses. They can tell you whether or not they have met their reading goals and what they need to do to get there. One scholar recently said, "Mrs. L, I know I got a low score on my spelling test yesterday, and I know it is because I didn't study. I was going to tell you that it wasn't my fault, but that is making excuses. It is my fault and I'm gonna study hard next week." My scholars deserve the best, because they are the best.
