My students are a diverse group of gifted learners in grades 3-7. I work in a suburban school with a population of about 1200 students. Due to the fact that we are a relatively small school district, our budget is small as well. I often have spent the total of my budget by October of every year. This year in particular my students have expressed a great interest in robotics and I am hoping to provide more opportunities for them. Our community is more blue collar than some of our neighboring districts and I strive to provide opportunities for my students that they may not receive at home. When my students get excited about a new project they often cannot see past that idea until it comes to fruition. Right now we are working with Legos but do not have the software to work the motors. Having these electronic and robotics kits are paramount to my quest to ensure that all of my students are ready for their future.
