I currently do not have an area rug where my students can sit on the floor comfortably and enjoy learning. Having a large rug with spots for everyone will provide them with a sense of ownership in the classroom. I also chose this specific rug because we can use it for math movement activities, dancing spots, and it is large enough for students to use as a puzzle rug. We will use the rug multiple times throughout the day; from our Morning Meetings, center times, reading times, and during our Closing Meetings. Most importantly, it will help foster our classroom community. The rug will be LOVED by ALL!
