Some students do well learning in a traditional classroom environment where the teacher teaches the lessons and then the students work independently on their work. Other students need more interaction and direct help from the teacher and small group learning helps to support these types of students. By helping me purchase a half-circle table and chairs, I can create an area where I can work with small groups of students. Together, we can work on assignments while other students work individually or in pairs. This will allow me to make sure at-risk students understand the material. Often students are embarrassed to ask questions or to ask for help in front of others. By working in small breakout groups, students will feel more comfortable asking or answering questions .
