I teach kindergarten at a wonderful school, Silver Rail Elementary, set in beautiful Bend, Oregon. At this Title 1 school about 50% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Our students are from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and represent our growing town. At our school we work on spreading kindness throughout our community through acts of service and with the belief that we are all wonders. One of the most important things that we can teach is how to cope with strong feelings and how to build resiliency to overcome difficulties. Many of the considerations that I make in my classroom are how I can help students make good choices that will lead to a successful future. We appreciate any support that you can give to help make a brighter future for my amazing students!
