The materials that I am requesting will help replace an outdated cassette player that my students use for their listening center. With the new iPads, they will be able to choose from a larger variety of audiobooks. They can easily use the iPad by tapping on pictures learning to become independent in the process. I want them to learn to love reading and listening to an audiobook on an Ipad will make the storybooks come alive. It will also help them focus on the sounds of words read without interruption and provides a model of fluent reading. Audiobooks also give them an important introduction to listening — a skill that they must master in order to learn to read.
