Having the right tools is imperative, and this year my students and I have struggled using inadequate technology. Because of connectivity issues, lack of storage space, processing time, etc. I have been limited to the programs I can use and the amount I can accomplish in the regular school day. Using the MacBook Pro will boost student engagement. Because we are still involved in distance learning, the students rely on me to share my screen as I explain new concepts. I often have to log off and on because my computer can not keep up. Students can often not understand me and say that I am laggy and sound like a robot. This is especially worrisome since I have a student that is hearing impaired. With a MacBook Pro, not only would students be able to hear and stay connected with me, I would be able to plan engaging, interactive lessons which include short video clips (either one I have created or ones that are available through other sites), games and challenges which would provide students with immediate feedback. What a difference a MacBook Pro would make in providing seamless and uninterrupted lessons, better quality recording of lessons students need to access, and overall a more conducive learning and working environment.
