I am requesting Spanish books with props for students to retell stories, a bookshelf to keep books organized, a puppet theater for students to dramatize stories, and a table with chairs for students to be engaged in extended conversations during pretending play. Students will utilize these materials during literacy and math workstations in whole group or independently. Students will be engaged and develop oral language skills by using props and books to retell and dramatize stories, build vocabulary, have conversations, understand text, and express themselves. Researches show that drama motivate students to read and keep on reading, build self-confidence, and foster a community of learners who choose to participate in independent reading activities. The earliest students develop their oral language, their literacy and vocabulary skills get stronger in the later elementary years.
