I have been teaching for 20 years and every year I have the students participate in a science fair. Many of my students lack the motivation to do anything and I have found that my lowest achieving students are the students that come up with the most inspirational and beautiful projects. My students come from low income families and lack the resources and family support (due to both parents working - sometimes 2 jobs).
