Centers time is a great way to build these social skills while simultaneously building on their knowledge. I am asking for a few different types of centers. The first is a type of pen called a Hot Dot Pen which uses corresponding dots to help the students check their work. I can use these pens and dots on any type of flash card or paper that can match what we are doing in class. These pens are a great way for the students to check their own understanding and grow from there. I am also asking for many different STEM materials for centers that can get the students building and working together. With these materials, though it may seem like play, the students are learning in a fun manner about engineering, architecture, and how to work as a TEAM. Even starting at such a young age, these STEM materials will help our students to grow and succeed when the start to take standardized tests such as AZ Merit, SATs, and ACTs. Lastly, there are a few pre-made things from teaching stores such as Lakeshore that would be highly beneficial in advancing their knowledge. With this, I am also asking for small padlocks where students would be able to use a key with an answer to complete a math problem. This give them a fun way to check their own understanding. My kiddos would love to add to the collection of centers we have as they are eager to learn and have fun while doing so!
