I teach a high energy, critical thinking and analysis focused version of 8th grade English Language Arts at a public non-profit charter school. My classroom is a place where everyone is welcome and safe. My students know that academically my expectations are high for them, but that I approach each student as an individual, considering who they are, where they have been, and what they choose to tell me. I know my students are capable of moving mountains, and I believe it's my job to show them they can.
