Allowing students to have access to auditory technology will help make history come alive for my students. This project reaches beyond my own classroom to help our entire history team at our school so that every 8th-grade student in our school has equal access to the same helpful technology in all of their history classes. The technology I am requesting will allow them to take charge of their own learning at their own pace. There are multiple projects throughout the school year where this technology will greatly benefit our students. For example, during our Civil War unit, we examine first-hand accounts of slavery where students actually listen to recordings of former slaves. During this same unit, students will explore various websites that examine the causes of the Civil War and being able to navigate these interactive sites at their own pace will greatly enhance their learning. Overall, this technology will help history come alive in their young minds. Thank you.
