Dr. Seuss said it best. "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." My young Kindergartners are eager to read. They enjoy guiding their own reading by choosing books from my classroom library. Many of them do not have a wide selection of their own books at home so they love borrowing mine. I purchase books for my students throughout the school year but it's difficult to spend my own funds. Books last for a long time, but eventually become torn, tattered, and well-used. My students also enjoy being read to. The more books I share with them, the more they want to read on their own.
