Some of my favorite memories from my childhood are the times when my teachers would read aloud to the classroom. I believe students need to hear the excitement and love for reading in their teachers' voices. Reading aloud to students helps them to learn that books are enjoyable. It helps them to be calm and gives them a sense of fulfillment when they get through an entire book. I am looking for purposeful, age-appropriate, informative read alouds that will engage my students and foster a love for reading within each of them. I have found two classroom sets of books that I feel will be meaningful read-alouds that my students will appreciate.
