The best type of learning takes place out of a desk and the alternative seating of cushion seats, wobble chair and rug will provide for comfortable learning environments. Our classroom is a safe place where students are encouraged to discover ways in which they learn best. Small group discussions, independent reading, partner reading, and exploration can occur anywhere in the classroom with these alternative seating options for my students. As a teacher, I would love to have the rug as a class or small-group meeting space, where we could all gather together, and discuss our daily discoveries. The portable CD players and toobaloos are interactive portable tools that students can select to bring to their alternative seats to further develop their reading skills. Each of these items will allow for more student choice within my classroom and encourage students to increase their discovery of how they learn best.
