Our school is a small rural school in Illinois. We have roughly 400 students in our elementary building. My students come from various economic backgrounds, some have more than enough while others have nothing. We have students that have single parents, divorced parents, students living with grandparents, and students living with both parents. Some students get a lot of parental support and reinforcement at home while others have parents that can not read. Despite the differences in families, the students in my class are very energetic and eager to learn and practice new skills. They have the drive and ambition to excel if given support at this early stage of learning.
