My students dream of big things and they work hard to reach their goals. They are growing up in a high tech world and having access to technology in the classroom can help move them closer to those goals. Our school does not have a lot of technology and I want to change that. With Chromebooks in our classroom on a daily basis, students will not only be able to learn keyboarding skills but will also have the opportunity to create documents, slideshows, and other presentations to share their thinking and learning. These skills are also critical because of mandated testing which is administered on the computers. Students have so much knowledge to share but when they are hindered by a lack of familiarity with computers then they are at a disadvantage. Just the idea of getting Chromebooks into the hands of these kiddos is exciting. I know that their enthusiasm for learning will only increase when they get to experience it through the technology that they see in the world around them.
