My students use headphones in their Chromebooks daily for assignments, listening to educational videos, or audiobooks for students who struggle with reading grade level text. I ask students to listen to videos and answer questions on them. I ask students to record themselves reading and then listen back to see if they can make themselves sound more fluent. Listening to their reading stories online is one way that I differentiate learning for my struggling readers so they can hear what fluent reading sounds like. It is a crucial component to our classroom and we need headphones that can withstand 9 and 10 year old active 4th graders!
