Having a set of classroom iPads will enable my students to have the technology they need to better develop researching and literacy skills. My students are grouped into small groups for Reader's Workshop. In these small groups, students read challenging texts that require them to research to better relate to characters. The students also need to be doing word study work to better grow them as readers and writers. My project will make a difference because my students need better opportunities to be literate technology users, and these iPads will help them to to be independent during our literacy workshop time frames. This grant will support my students to have the tools they need to research about the characters in their books as well as have access to eBooks, and word study apps. By having the iPads, digital literacy will be an active part of my daily classroom life.
