A sense of security is essential for adolescents confronting learning deficits. Dividers maintain a sense of privacy in small learning environments and increase student focus. Reducing any stressor is key to breaking the barrier at risk students maintain within themselves to cope with their environment so real learning can begin to occur and replace the low self esteem that keeps them in states of avoidance. Dividers give students with challenges a safety zone to begin the difficult task of facing their deficits in a safe place. Students only learn when these basic needs are addressed first and foremost, and handled with the utmost care and concern. It is within all learners to achieve once these needs are realized, and only when they are realized.
