Reading a book series increases both reading time and comprehension. Students find a story they like and get hooked on the series. Excited to read more of the story, they race to the library to find that the next book is not only missing from the shelf but missing from our library entirely. These books will help keep our students reading the stories they love by ensuring that there are no missing books in the series. Filling in the missing books or the next book in the series will help encourage student reading and understanding. Missing books squelch enthusiasm, and an opportunity to foster the love of reading is lost.
