In my classroom we sit on the floor several times a day, every day. My students enjoy coming to the floor during whole group and partner work. When they come to the floor and have discussion, the students talk and engagement is amazing. At their tables they cannot see everyone's faces as they share or listen to others. Allowing them to sit face to face on the floor gives them a sense of togetherness. Unfortunately, at this time we do not have a classroom rug. Having this classroom rug would be a great asset to our classroom.
