Help make my classroom a more inviting and comfortable learning environment! I currently have eight large florescent ceiling lights and they give off very harsh lighting. Better lighting is shown to increase student attention and decrease behaviors (Tanner, 2013). The light filters will help adjust the lighting in the room so that students will be more successful. Alternative seating takes into account the different learning styles in my classroom. By having floor cushions, I am providing my students with choices in their learning. Additionaly, alternative seating has positive affects on focus and behavior (Guardino & Fullerton, 2010). Guardino, C. A., & Fullerton, E. (2010).
