I have already begun the journey to bring our classroom into the 21st century with some local grants. Our schools budget cuts have made it impossible to provide teachers with money to update and improve our classrooms. These basic items I am purchasing are to provide students with alternative seating and the ability to filter noise and distraction. Together, my co-teacher and I have over 40 students we teach. I am responsible solely for the English Language Arts, and we both support Social Studies and Science. The games I am purchasing will allow students to create their own "Escape Rooms" as a Performance task for a module on inventors and allow them to use their creativity. In today's world 21st Century learners must be able to compete with students all over the universe. They must be problem solvers and self advocates. My philosophy and that of my co-teacher includes building and fostering that independence. Thank you in advance for your support in helping us achieve these goals!
