My students are some of the hardest working little artists I have ever met. They are efficient on managing their time, and often finish projects early. Currently, the only thing students can do after they finish a project is to color or draw a picture. I want my students to explore the world of 3-dimensional arts. As many of my students come from lower income homes in a not-always-safe neighborhood, my students cannot work with their hands as easily as I could when I was young. Parents may be forced to choose between a tub of Play-Doh or eating dinner that night. Many parents work long hours, so students cannot go outside and play in the mud and dirt like I did. Tactile play is so important for child development, and I hope that you'll join me in helping these children learn to use their hands and imaginations while using dough and tools to create a world of different things!
