My students, being reluctant readers, need engaging literature of varying levels of complexity in order to improve their literacy skills. The books we read must be relatable, exciting, and of a Lexile Level that is appropriate for each of their reading abilities. Students will become more engaged with these texts since Dystopian Literature is a high-interest genre, and they will build their confidence in reading since each book will be of a different level of reading complexity. My students will be able to hold literature circles to discuss their readings, and become more self-directed. Your generous donation to our project will encourage reluctant readers to engage in shared texts, and will also increase reading comprehension. Having four different choices of Dystopian Literature will allow ALL students the opportunity to learn and grow as readers, and as members of society. Thank you for your support!
