Being in a Special Day classroom, my students often need their own type of "escape" and adventure that they could lead on their own. With our current classroom library, the books are hard to find on their own, the bookshelves are falling over, and it is just not as fun to read books anymore. With new bookshelves, my students will be able to take responsibility for their learning by seeing well-organized books which they can have more independence in their choices. Our current classroom library also has one tall bookshelf, which our students can't even reach! These new bookshelves will help our classroom accomplish the goals of teaching responsibility and give my students access to reading. In turn we will also have more room for more books for their reading level! Thank you for considering to back this project and make our classroom a more kid-friendly environment!
