Our school and my classroom is made up of students from diverse ethnic backgrounds. My students are 4 and 5 years old (Transitional Kinders) and most are part of our free and reduced meal program. We are in a low socio-economic community which makes us a Title 1 school. Many of my students come to my classroom in need of social-emotional skills and support. I love working with these kids and providing age-appropriate challenges and opportunities to bring out the best in them and develop their social and academic skills. In my classroom, I create spaces and opportunities for them to socialize, share and problem-solve together.
