Interested in reaching large number of students in a positive, nurturing way? Want to help to make a difference with the littlest learners in a rural school district? As the new School Counselor to our elementary school, I went through all of the resources that have been handed down to me. While doing this I realized that though I do have a small number of awesome books that I will use for sure, there are so many more that would make a huge improvement to my library-- the little library that I use, my staff uses, and that I even lend to families-- and have a much greater impact on my students and our community. Adding these books to our library will benefit the children and their families as they learn about empathy, how to create a growth mindset, staying positive and overcoming challenges.
