Last spring our PTSA purchased a few 3D printers for our students to use. Our students have enjoyed printing and creating 3D objects. About a month ago a students expressed an interest in BUILDING a 3D printer. The two kits that I selected would allow the students to build the 3D printers and then be utilized by our school. One of the 3d printers has a heated bed which allows for printing a variety of plastic materials. The other printer allows for multi-colored printing. Our school offers enrichments January-March which allows students the opportunity to investigate ideas and concepts not covered by the traditional curriculum. These kits would allow us to offer an enrichment where teams of students can build these 3D printers. This would provide the students a hands-on opportunity to strengthen skills and increase confidence.
